Autosport International/PistonHeads show 2010

The annual Autosport International /PistonHeads show was held at the NEC near Birmingham over a snow covered few days in the middle of January. The show celebrated its 20th anniversary, and also marked 60 years of Autosport magazine. This was presented as a display of significant competition cars from the 60 year period, one for each decade, including a 1957 Maserati 250F, A 1960s Ford Lotus Cortina,a 1970s JPS Lotus 72, 1980s Audi Quattro and Nigel Mansells 1992 World championship winning Williams Renault FW14B.

The Formula 1 display consisted of cars from the majority of teams which contested the 2009 World Championship. Centre stage, literally, was the Championship winning Brawn Mercedes BGP 001 of Jenson Button. Ferrari, Renault, Red Bull, Williams and Force India also had cars on display so fans could really get up close to the cars.

The Historic Sports Car Club arranged for a re-union of former Formula 5000 drivers to take place on their stand on the Friday Trade day. They also had a line up of 7 Formula 5000 cars on display. These included a rare Leda LT25 which has not been seen for several years

Covering several major halls, the show had something for all motorsport enthusiasts.

The associated show, run in unison with the Autosport Show, is the Piston Head show for High performance and Supercars. This year there was a very good turn out of Alfa Romeo cars, and the new Lexus GT was on display.
